How to apply?

 

1. Create a u:account

A u:account (University of Vienna account) is necessary to use the recruitment portal, which is an IT service provided by the University of Vienna. We do not accept email applications. 

U:account creation requires an existing email address as well as your name and date of birth. With your u:account username and password, you can login to the recruitment portal through the link provided belkow every position.

2. Prepare your documents

The documents required for application are shown in the recruitment portal. To apply, the following documents need to be uploaded:

  • CV incl. publication list and conference attendances
  • Letter of motivation - Example structure (max. 100 words each): Scientific Background, Training and Expertise, Research Interests, Motivation for applying 
  • Confirmation of English language skills (if available, otherwise English will be assessed in the context of the interview)
  • Master’s (or equivalent) and Bachelor’s diploma and transcript of records (applicants who apply before their graduation, please let us know your projected date of graduation in the comment field in the recruitment portal).
  • Contact information of 2 references

3. Log into the recruitment portal and fill out the recruitment form

Go to Apply now and use the VDSMES recruitment portal with your u:account login.

Select the position(s) you are interested in and submit your documents by dragging and dropping or uploading the PDF from your computer.

Optionally, leave a comment for the recruiting team, such as the projected date of completion of your ongoing master's or PhD degree.

Fill the statistics data and submit your application.
